To install Matrix services using this Ansible playbook, you need:
- (Recommended) An x86 server (What kind of server specs do I need?) running one of these operating systems:
- CentOS (7 only for now; 8 is not yet supported)
- Debian (10/Buster or newer)
- Ubuntu (18.04 or newer, although 20.04 may be problematic)
- Archlinux
You might have some problems with NS-8, why don’t you try directly with NS-7 ?
I also have doubts because they don’t support Ubuntu 20.04 which is LTS [20.04 may be problematic] !

Any News for installing Matrix Synapse on Nethserver 8?

We hope to release a first working version this month.

I think we have made a breakthrough and a discovery, That would enable us to Build and implement a proper NS8 Matrix App.
The first Features would feature the following Bridges.
Discord
Facebook
GoogleChat
Instagram
Signal
Slack
Telegram
Twitter
WhatsApp.
As stated before in the community, My main aim for looking into implementing Matrix on NS8, was in such a manner that it would be feature rich and complete, not just the Server and UI, but also the additional components that Make Matrix great.

I am also interested in a matrix app (including WA bridge). I still have matrix running on my NS7 VPS, but love to see it migrated to the NS8 VPS.
on the migration part, I would defintely need more intervention, on getting it running and efficiently, i think that we can do.
Been researching all the potential ways since I started building the first NS8 App. I think i Am a professor now
For me getting matrix synapse + WA bridge up and running on NS8 has priority. I am less interested in actually migrating the database since I only use Matrix for the WA bridge
