I thought iIwas on final:
System version
NethServer release 7.6.1810 (final)
Kernel release
3.10.0-862.14.4.el7.x86_64

I do have a notice that said: A new upstream distribution release 7.6 is available as update. Should I unlock and install this? Do I need to undo the console commands I did earlier to get email working so the anti-spam(?) works again?

Please remove the custom template files.

This should not be necessary.

I’m sorry, but I don’t understand removing the custom template files. Did I install custom templates when you suggested the command line stuff to fix my issue? You’ll have to excuse my ignorance.

Yes, the files you created in /etc/e-smith/templates-custom. Custom templates are used to override the default configuration templates.
