How to use proxy for other apps

I have a smartphone with an old version of android. when I have to change the advanced settings of the wifi network, there is only the possibility to use manual proxy configuration (HTTP). so browsing works for me. other apps do not have access to the internet, for example whatsapp does not work. How can I solve?
