a customer a year ago I mounted opnsense for the captive portal at their request, with ns8 and icaro I can have the same services as in opnsense locally, ie do not depend on the internet to use the services of icaro.
I am starting from 0. I want to make the proposal and restart my work.
A friend of mine has proxmox and told me I could borrow it for testing, while I was solving my problems.
But what is the exact question/problem please?
This Icaro Hotspot is for NS7 only I believe, and there is no NS8 port yet afaik.
I have no problems with ns, my personal problems.
i wanted to offer my client ns8 i thought that icaro is operational in this version. my question is if icar works locally in ns without depending on any other internet connection only to provide service to the captive portal.
tomorrow I will go to test on a friend’s proxmox ns8

I never tested icaro with NS8 but there’s a client for NethSecurity, see also Hotspot — NethSecurity documentation
I don’t know if it works using a local icaro instance.
