HeloHost issues multiple domains or disabling

I have finally gotten neth 7 working correctly in our new location and now that we don’t have funky ip gateway settings things are going much smoother.

Helohost is putting my ip as a spam what ever on some spam watch dog things…

so i have multiple domains how do i add multiple domains on this or completely disable helohost altogether.

Here is what i thought the command did.

config setprop postfix HeloHost 157.185.79.38 lorentedford.com ltcraft.net ilhamradio.org kc9zhv.com kc9zhr.com voipham.com mdsucks.com newwavesucks.com

signal-event nethserver-mail-common-save

Is this how it works? or can i just disable it completely?

Usually you’d just need one resolvable hostname.

If it doesn’t work with HeloHost you may try this:

So does this mean in place of Banner Host I put each domain or how does this work? I am a bit confused.

You only need one domain.

Ok thanks I will try this!

So for some reason or another it didn’t work i got a message where it felt like my ip needed blocked. It requested that i put the ip in boxed [192.168.0.0] <- Example of how it looked. Brackets… what is CBL anyway also it keeps leading me back to this site.

Maybe you changed the banner in a wrong way, you should use an FQDN like mailserver.domain.tld.

To check your banner (exit with CTRL-C):

cat < /dev/tcp/127.0.0.1/25

Here is what i got…

[root@webserver ~]# cat < /dev/tcp/127.0.0.1/25
220 webserver.lorentedford.com ESMTP Postfix
^X^C
[root@webserver ~]#

Also according to Name Cheap under DNS it should be even pointed to the right location.
So not sure what is up.

It should be mail.domain.com instead of webserver.domain.com.

You may check for mail server problems with mxtoolbox, here is a tutorial for setting up mail:

Sorry to bring this up again, but i have a similar problem … I never had this problem before,
most e-mails are delivered… i changed the HeloHost and the custom banner already, but i got an e-mail back that said : 554
5.7.1 <oregon.knabl.local>: Helo command rejected: Wir akzeptieren keine
e-Mails von .local Domains. Bitte wenden Sie sich an den Administrator
IHRES Mailservers. Der Empf nger ist NICHT das Problem. - We dont accept
mails from local domain - please contact YOUR postmaster. The receipient is
NOT the cause of this problem. (in reply to RCPT TO command)

So i am not sure where else this .local domainname is hiding…
Thankful for any help!

Hermann

As the hostname of the server?

Yes - it seams to use oregon.knabl.tirol still in the Helo
