LOL, The Netherlands outsourced ALL cloud services of ALL government bodies to MS just last year. So ALL data of ALL citizens are stored in with MS somewhere… Obviously despite the zillion warnings…

Italian postal service (which is a publicly own private company) which is going to become the second biggest TLC company in italy (tender offer for 70% and future delisting has been delivered) is since decades a Microsoft heavy customer…
Did I mention that it’s also is a bank and a TLC operator now?

Recent events, including the disruption of digital services affecting an International Criminal Court judge, highlight why European digital sovereignty matters. When critical infrastructure can be remotely controlled or suspended, questions about independence are legitimate.

France’s move toward open standards and open source is a step in the right direction, though it comes later than it should have. As often happens, we’re reacting to problems rather than anticipating them.
