Export mattermost

HI all,
after a backup ad a restore on different hardware mattermost stopped to work. It started showing wrong users number and worng messages number, so I did a bulk export as per their wiki ;
bin/mattermost export bulk file.json --all-teams
and a bulk import that solved that problem ( now, channels, users and messages are right ).
Then I ran mattermost-bulk-user-create but the users are there and they are skipped even if I change their passwords.
Is there a way to modify passwords for the users without losing their messages? I mean without completely erase users and messages from archive?

If the users are already there, why do you want to reimport them?

Is there a way to modify passwords for the users without losing their messages?

It can be done in Mattermost System Console web interface or with mmctl on command line.
