European floodings

Just wondering how everybody effected by the floods is doing?

Here in NL the water levels slowly move towards the North sea, leaving behind devastation. too many deaths (DE, BE, NL) too much damage.

Sorry for the cities, the people, the damages, the fear.

It’s not the first time, won’t surely be the last.

We had much luck in Ennepetal, it’s between Hagen and Wuppertal. But there are some other cities, where people have lost everything, their houses, their business and much worse, people they liked.
I think we all must have a share in the environment protection.

Hello everyone,

I live in Trier, one of its suburbs (Ehrang) has been hit quite worse: A hospital there had to be evacuated on Thursday. The cellar was flooded and a 4-tonne MRI was displaced by half a metre. Fortunately, the helium tank, which was no longer cooled, withstood the pressure and did not explode.

The willingness to help is really really high, hotels and private persons quickly offered rooms to those affected, and collection points for clothing, food and toys have been set up within a very short time.

A huge „thank you“ to all the emergency services and volunteers who have been doing an incredible job for days is the least to do.

Let’s hope for no more rain in the next few weeks - or at least not this much again.

P.S.: If anyone is interested, here is a link to a page of a local radio and tv station that lists official donation accounts of the counties (sorry, only available in German).
