Does nethserver need the mail module to send notifications?

Very basic question : does nethserver need the mail module to send notifications to the administrator ?

Nethserver-mail-smarthost installed with the core is designed for this.

Oh ! That’s why ! I issued a yum remove nethserver-mail* to remove the mail server modules
