Difference between Adguard in Threatshield and DNS

Maybe a dummy question, but I like to know what is the difference between Adguard in Threatshield and DNS.
You can enable Adguard in the Threatshield UI, but als can enable Adguard in the Adblock feature as an DNS filter in the console

If you don’ have a subscription for FlashStart DNS Filter you can still make it directly on NethSecurity enabling AdBlock and, optionally, activating the DNS query interception feature for LAN clients.

In short, one filters IPs the other filters domains.

I could be wrong, but the threat shield from your screenshot is used to block ads by IP blocklists through banip, while adblock blocks DNS queries from a blocklist of domains. An additional option is to use DNS servers from a third-party provider (the docs mention flashstart). I think you’ll get it more clearly and in detail from these docs: threat shield adblock
