Default location for samba shares

NethServer Version: NethServer 7.9.2009

Module: SAMBA

Hi,

I think i made a mistake on my install…

I naively assumed samba shares would be created in /home so created a seperate /home disk partition using most of my disk space.

I now have my first shares setup up and find they are in a /var/lib/nethserver/home and /var/lib/nethserver/ibay.

So the question is how can I set the default location for new shares ( and new user directories ) to utilise the /home partition when i create shares from the web front end ?

I assume i can just move the existing folders to /home and change the smb.conf accordingly.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers

I dont know that also this parameter can be changed via a config fragment…

I also don’t know (because i am a linux n00b) if /home can take different paths due to users.

Thanks for the reply

I looked at it and couldn’t make head nor tail about which i should change so had a think and decided to use symlinks - seems ok so far.

Only problem is i renamed a folder incorrectly in /var/lib/nethserver and don’t klnow what it was originally called :frowning: it contains subfolders called /IA64 /w32alpha /w32mips /w32ppc /w32x86 /win40 /color & /x64

Anyone tell me what it was originaly called ? I did it whilst in Midnight Commander ( cos i’m not command line junkie  ) so there is no command log to check.

Thanks

I don’t know what the directory name should be, but I might guess it’s related to printer drivers.

/var/lib/nethserver/print_driver/
