Configuring DHCP

NethServer Version: 7.9.2009
Module: DHCP

Hi - probably something staring me in the face, but I don’t seem to be able to get the DHCP server to work. If I put a static IP address into the client, everything is working fine. If I get the client to use DHCP, it waits for ever for an IP address.

On the server, I can go to System -> DHCP, but I don’t see anywhere to set a range for the leases, nor do I see any other configuration options. The only thing it seems possible to do is add reserved IPs.

I’ve looked in the docs, but they seem to assume everything will just work.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers

In the System/DHCP settings click on “Modify” for the network you like to have DHCP and fill in what you need:

After that DHCP should be enabled and providing IPs to the LAN.

I don’t have a modify button.

Oh right. I have to switch on the ‘Scan Network’ Option. I scanned the network - didn’t realise that button was to switch on DHCP for the interface.

See - I told you it would be staring me in the face. I am always right
