Cannot Login to Roundcubemail, even though I reinstalled

NethServer Version: 7
Module: nethserver-roundcubemail

I have my server running since years, but roundcubemail stopped working some time ago. When I try to log in, I get Invalid request! No data was saved.

Roundcubes error log shows:

PHP Warning: session_start(): Failed to read session data: user (path: /var/lib/php/session) in
/usr/share/roundcubemail/program/lib/Roundcube/rcube_session.php on line 117

Apache error log shows nothing. I removed the package, deleted the roundcube secret and the database and then reinstalled nethserver-roundcubemail. Still the same problem. What could I do to fix this?

What I don’t understand is why it tries to read some session data from /var/lib/php/session? I thought it uses the database for this? I checked the permissions of the folder and the apache user can write to it.

I have php 7.1 from @remi-php71.

Thanks in advance!

Does it work when using another browser (or clean the browser cache)?

Do you use the php-scl module?

I removed all the different php packages from my system and went with a clean install only of php from nethserver (nethserver-rh-php72-php-fpm) and epel.

My Error message in the log now changed to my password being expired, which I did not get informed about on a valid channel.

I renewed the password and could log in.
