Cannot get WAN Internet DHCP After 7.7 upgrade

After completing the upgrade from the admin console, the Internet (red role) interface enp1s0 did not get a DHCP address. I rebooted, still none. I then removed the interface and added it in, and rebooted, still no address assigned. i have also powered my cable modem off, and powered it back on.

Suggestions?

Does your ISP restrict access by MAC address?

Seems you use IPS/suricata. Did you try to disable it?

Thanks for the input. I got impatient and so reinstalled Nethserver from scratch, and swapped out a NIC is the process. I had not tried any debugging steps so did not try disabling Suricata, but will keep that in mind.

My ISP is Comcast (AKA Xfinity), which does require me to reboot the cable modem if the router config on the customer premise side of the cable modem changes (I am guessing it is based on a MAC ID change).Handily the Xfinity “My Account” smartphone app will allow you to initiate a reboot so I don’t have to physically unplug it anymore.
