Prompted by the rather steep price rises in electricity, running even a small NAS 24/7 when it’s only needed for backups seems wasteful and costly(*). So I’ve migrated the use of Wake on LAN with workstation backups that I wrote for SME Server in 2012. https://bugs.koozali.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4578.
It’s very simple and modifies /etc/e-smith/events/actions/mount-cifs. Hum, can’t find how to attach a file to a message… “upload” only accepts pictures, not code/text. Guess I could include the modified mount-cifs in the message body, as it’s only a few k, but that’s rather messsy.
