Maybe it will become useful for Cockpit, but i don’t wish to modify SMB version via text editor (i’m assuming that one day i will need to do an out of schedule full backup or something else and i will forget to edit the mount command via shell).
Maybe a drop-down menu enabled only when using SMB could be useful…
We already discussed such feature in the past (you can search discourse for it) from the view of developer and user.
From the developer side I can say that it’s not supported and shouldn’t be needed since the script tries to mount a share with latest CIFS version than fallback to the old one.
