Backup a VPS to other VPS, Cloudstorage or?

Hi All,

I’m planning on using a Contabo VPS S for my first NS. And I would like to take care of the backups properly :slight_smile:
The options I can think of are:

  • add backup space to the VPS: easy, but only available to the VPS.
  • use a Contabo storage VPS, just running linux: some more maintenance but I could also use this for backing up other things (like future extra NS VPSs)
  • use a dedicated cloud storage solution: easy, but relatively ‘expensive’.

What are your thoughts?
Any other options?
Any recommendations?

I use a Contabo VPS too and I’m really satisfied with it.
I use restic for backup to an sftp server which is provided by my web host provider but would be easy to setup on any server.
