I am currently in the process of migrating from NethServer 7 to 8. After completing the sync and finish steps, a pop-up appeared asking me to “Insert Webmail Virtual Host Address.”
I am unsure about what this address is and where I can retrieve it from. Could anyone please provide some guidance on what this address refers to and how I can find or set it up?
It looks like you took the jump almost the same time I did. Can you post a picture of your current state. I think I know where you are, but I don’t want to give you bad info.
@davidep or anyone please correct me if I am not correct. Thx
(Please verify before you try the following)
In the mean time I think I know where you are in migration so I will try to answer it with the following.
This has to do with your Roundcube deployment on NS7. It is migrating it over to NS8.
In NS8 it uses Traefik proxy to do all the proxy work.
It is trying to setup a proxy for you for Roundcube. So you can get to it externally when the migration is completed.
You would want to put your existing FQDN of Roundcube you have that you put in to a browser when you want to go to Roundcube. For instance, if you have FQDN of example.org. And to get to your Roundcube you normally type webmail.example.org to get to Roundcube, then that is what you would type in the “Insert Webmail Virtual Host Address.”
I put webmail.mycomputervisions.com since that is where I had Roundcube setup with my Registrar and my DNS to go… as webmail.
(Please verify before you try the above)
Please send the picture still so I can verify… but I believe that is it…
I went to Applications, searched for Webmail, then clicked Open, and it directed me to the link https://mail.mydomaincompany.it/webmail/. Is this what I need to enter in the pop-up?
No, in NS8 virtual hosts are needed so you should enter something like webmail.mydomaincompany.it and ensure that the domain resolves to your servers IP in DNS.
