Apps/containers should be easy to disable/re-enable

Does anyone else remember phpp2shell?

Has anyone else—since the days of phpp2shell, or perhaps even longer—wished for a simple, accessible way to disable individual apps or containers?

Imagine a container turns out to be vulnerable; it would be incredibly helpful to be able to disable it completely. That way, you wouldn’t have to fiddle with various other settings to make it inaccessible—and you could be absolutely certain: “The container is off.”

There are, of course, other scenarios where you might want to disable a service or container without having to delete it entirely:

For example, when you are testing or setting up an app but aren’t yet ready to make it available for permanent use.

Or, perhaps you only want to use or enable something for specific “occasions.”

There’s no need to go overboard, of course—no need to start asking for features like automated schedules for disabling or re-enabling them.
