I would like to set up a seperate virtual apache host for ssl usage, at the moment both http and https are pointing to /var/www/html and would like https to be pointing to /var/www/ssl-doc
I have had a look at the template but am getting a bit confused!
ok, so tell us what’s confusing you 
If /var/www/ssl-doc is a requirement, I suggest adding the virtual host config file under /etc/httpd/conf.d. Don’t use the templates.
Otherwise install the “File Server” module and use “Shared Folder” page…
The SSL certificate should be the same for all vhosts. You can set it according to
