Hi @MadPatrick
Is this the admin account of the domain, or is it the NC Root Admin, who entered the password Nethesis,1234 at the first login?
Regards…
Uwe
It is the Admin account of the domain
I didn’t saw the opportunity to use the NC root admin login
Maybe missed it somehow after installation
So far i can remember i logged in with user (my personal account)
Then try it with Admin and the PW Nethesis,1234 and be happy. But please change the default password right after the first login.
Propably i had changed the password.
Nethesis,1234 didn’t work, but other password did
But still admin setting available.
Tried to login with “Admin” and “admin”. Both the same
But still admin setting available.
That is a normal situation when you logged in wit the NC Admin.
Sorry. I mean
But still admin setting not available.
But do you mean there are no admin settings with NC on a NS8?
When i check it on a NS7 server i have the Administration Settings
internal nextcloud user “admin” has all privileges. Domain admins, doesn’t have them by default.
runagent -m nextcloud1 occ user:info admin
runagent -m nextcloud1 occ user:enable admin
runagent -m nextcloud1 occ user:resetpassword admin
Replace nextcloud1 with your nextcloud app instance id.
On one of the screenshots above I see “builtin administrator user (…” but I believe that user comes from AD/LDAP (you can check it against your domain user’s Display Name or what is between the parenthesis). The admin user menu shows up like:
And once logged in as the “built-in” Nextcloud administrator (Never set this to the same password as the NS8 admin!), you have permissions to go into the users, and set any user you want / need as admin in Nextcloud. (Groups, add existing admin group).
This way, the built in account can use a really obscure and secure password. Normally this account is hardly ever needed again. Administration of Nextcloud can be done from whatever accounts you enable with the admin right.
My 2 cents
Andy
i’ve locked my self out of NC by trying to many times
Somehow it is not realising the IP after a period of time.
The problem is that my NS8 with NC is behind the reverse proxy of Nethsecruty and get the Nethsecurity IP
The real IP is not forwarded.
How can i change this in NS8. I know how to do this with Apache on a NS7, but NS8 doesn’t work with apache and i have no knowledge on Docker systems
That is a fair question. Many NS7 users are not skilled enough of want to be a command prompt cowboy to achieve the same as on NS7.
This worked.
The admin account was already enabled, but the password reset worked
