Im trying to use different vesions of php to get a drupal website working and have followed Steph’s instructions as best I can (https://wiki.nethserver.org/doku.php?id=php-scl) although I havent yet got my head around the “adding template files” part at the bottom. I was hoping that having followed this that the php version options would appear in the vhost setup gui (advanced options) but this has not happened, for instance id like to select php56. Any pointers appreciated

You don’t need php-scl anymore, the server manager (Cockpit) provides the different PHP versions in the virtualhost settings:
