well I still need to decide how to create a user to authenticate the admin in all my webapp, it was so cool with the default defunct admin :frowning:

Released in my repo, the new cool feature will be that fail2ban will watch the bad login attempts.

Please go to http://wiki.nethserver.org/doku.php?id=urbackup install and break it.

Is this for NS7 or NS6.x?
On a NS7 server I get this when adding your repo:

Transaction check error:
file /sbin from install of nethserver-stephdl-1.0.0-1.ns6.noarch conflicts with file from package filesystem-3.2-20.el7.x86_64

Error Summary

/edit… I must be blind… nethserver-stephdl-1.0.0-1.ns6.noarch
Will there be a NS7 version?

install first http://wiki.nethserver.org/doku.php?id=stephdl_repository the correct repository then install nethserver-urbackup

yum install http://mirror.de-labrusse.fr/NethServer/7/x86_64/nethserver-stephdl-1.0.0-2.ns7.sdl.noarch.rpm -y
yum install nethserver-urbackup --enablerepo=stephdl

The documentation of urbackup is there, it is really tiny and we should add some user’s experiences…please @all go ahead.

I will test it end of the week. Currently I am on a Business trip.

Urbackup 2.x for NS7 and 1.4 for NS6?

Am I right with this?

Is it possible to update from 1.4 to 2.x? Couldn’t find it in the manual.

Urbackup2 is only for ns7…when you look to the repository for urbackup there is no mention for el6.

I will drop an email concerning this.

Something more to test, I added a jail in nethserver-fail2ban to protect the login page of urbackup

in order to test it

  • install nethserver-urbackup
  • set the password of the user admin (in urbackup settings)
  • install nethserver-fail2ban
  • allow the ban on your local network (LAN)
  • allow ban from one attempt (save time is always a good idea)
  • set the ban time to 600seconds
  • go to the login urbackup page and do several bad login

you should be banned

I looked at it. But on the other hand there is no el7 in the rpm if you grab it directly. I really don’t know, but is it possible that this works on CentOS6 and CentOS7?

In both NS6 and NS7 or only NS7?

don’t know, please try it in a VM. I remember that for el6 the email panel was removed for a matter of incompatibility.

good question, for now only NS7, but I could take time to do it for ns6

I did it, the rpm is incompatible with el6 it requires

Error: Package: urbackup-server-2.0.36.1630-1.1.x86_64 (/urbackup-server-2.0.36.1630-1.1.x86_64)

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest

Thanks for your answer. So we know that NS6 “stucks” at urbackup 1.4.
It’s o.k. for me. It works fine and does all it should.
IMO it’s not very important to have a urbackup-jail in NS6 and for NS7 you allready did it.

Will try to test urbackup 2.x with your contrib and ban myself in the next days.
Thanks again for your great work Stéphane. :+1: :+1:

Hi,

I tied to install it this evening and I am failing at the very beginning with adding your Repository:

[root@cltbck ~]# yum install http://mirror.de-labrusse.fr/NethServer/7/x86_64/nethserver-stephdl-1.0.0-2.ns7.sdl.noarch.rpm
Loaded plugins: changelog, fastestmirror, nethserver_events
nethserver-stephdl-1.0.0-2.ns7.sdl.noarch.rpm | 560 B 00:00
Cannot open: http://mirror.de-labrusse.fr/NethServer/7/x86_64/nethserver-stephdl-1.0.0-2.ns7.sdl.noarch.rpm. Skipping.
Error: Nothing to do

Or is this correct? Sounds wrong for me because the rpm cannot be found.

curious it works at home, follow stephdl_repository [NethServer Wiki]

Strange. I did it again and it worked…
Maybe a hickup of the repository or my connection.

don’t know, I saw something around 20h (paris time)
