Off-topic but a good opportunity for a basic impression of NS8:
To be honest, I’m surprised that such and similar configurations cannot be done via the GUI. This mixture of manual configuration in various places and configuration in the GUI may still be acceptable for an initial configuration by experienced administrators. But when it comes to configuration changes at the latest, you’ll go crazy if you haven’t meticulously documented where you have (re-)configured what.
Dependencies are also easy to lose sight of, especially if a long time has elapsed between administrative interventions.
It is becoming increasingly unlikely that I will use the current release (after all, it is a release and not a beta!) for productive purposes. And I’m having more and more doubts as to whether I can still belong to the target group of future users. The new architecture obviously requires administrative skills that I would first have to build up at great expense. To make matters worse, the documentation is the worst I know of. But worse is always possible, and maybe I just know too few.
I can only hope that I am an isolated case whose loss through Nethesis can be accepted and will have no economic consequences. I really hope that many will (be able to) follow you on your way.
Please don’t take this as a cheap polemic, but I feel left behind.
Nevertheless, I will continue to follow the progress. Maybe I’ll just have to wait until Release X.
