A homelab user without any particular computer science background (besides a few odd jobs and a degree in Audio Engineering). Environment is WS 2012R2 AD + vSphere 6.7U1 w/ 2 hosts (3 if you count backup) Xeon E3 and E5 Supermicro white-boxes, 10GbE via CX-4 (I’m cheap). Using Nethserver mainly for Nextcloud currently, experimenting with VPP+DPDK, exploring using Nethserver to replace pfSense for edge if experiments go well.
