@danb35 how was shnobi in your deployment scenarios
5 cameras with a small computer?
Possible, if you find old cameras with VGA resolution…
But 5 HD Cameras will easily use up a quad core setup - and plenty of RAM.

Most machines have atleast 4 Gig RAM lower than that I tend to avoid, and consider the owner not serious with the job at hand.
Ill try to do some tests with a small machine. And see how well it works
Rule of thumb for a small shop:
One cam behind the cashier, showing who’s in front.
One for the door, showing who’s coming in / leaving
2-4 for the corners of the room, covering the whole shop
Maybe an additional one, showing the outside (another one utside the back door)…
Adds up quite quickly…

I wasn’t able to get Shinobi to work with any of my cameras. I’m now using Unifi cameras recording to my CloudKey Gen2±-not so much F/OSS, but it works, it’s easy to set up, it’s all on-premise, and it’s not all that expensive.
i think with Unifi the cameras are the expensive lot from my conetext that is.
