[YumRPMCheckError] Error with transaction check vs depsolve (mariadb-libs, cups-libs)

I initally followed that sequence, i.e., 1) install centos minimal 2) yum update and 3) install Nethser —> Not able to install Nethserver (do not remember the error message but it had to do with version of …mismatch).

I then restarted the whole installation process with 1) install centos minimal and 2) Nethserver install —> Installation successfull. Then later on unable to install packages,

I am doing this and will post the outcome later.

tip: you can check which repos urls will be used by running yum repolist -v

Thanks for the tip.

I followed the procedure above and still have error when installing packages.

Hi all,

Since the user has access to the Internet, isn’t there a command to use at the server console to start a new installation directly from the Internet ? Something like PXE or net install

Michel-André

This is indeed a mixup of versions.
Please always use the latest NethServer ISO when installing.
Otherwise, use CentOS release which match the NethServer one.

We are going to update the install script on a CentOS in the coming days.

I thought there was an (automatic?) lock on version when a new(er) version of CentOS was available? I remember there was a switch in servermanager to lock the repo. And if I remember correctly this was removed again and set as default?

This is not an upgrade of an existing installation, which requires an action from the Software Center.

This is a new installation from CentOS, and as said here:

There’s still some case where the script does not throw the version mismatch error. IMO we have to move this line at the beginning of the script, so we can assume to run our version checks on the latest CentOS release. Otherwise subsequent upstream repository accesses will be directed to the wrong version.

For instance, I guess that if I start from a CentOS 7.8 ISO and install a nethserver-release for 7.8 today this command still points to 7 → 7.9, which is bad: nethserver-release/root/usr/sbin/nethserver-install at d8212113af50cb8b960f021825cf686b32202848 · NethServer/nethserver-release · GitHub

@petralemoisson, in the end, there’s a “transient” bug condition with the Install on CentOS procedure. As suggested by Giacomo, use the NethServer 7.8 ISO as workaround.
