I have not been here in some time, I am back with questions as usual. Can an upgrade from NS 6.8 to NS 7 be done on a live running system without crashing it?
No, you can’t!
There is somewhere in this forum more details for “why not” but I can’t find now to show you the path.
You can read more about NS 7, here:
I think that we will work on the 6 -> 7 live update after we release 7 final.
Let me wait on that for now. Thank you @filippo_carletti
another waiting +1
I cant wait… tackle the problems and errors at hand its the best way to learn…
Better make that a rock solid procedure. I know ‘that other distro’ has always been struggling with upgrades to new versions. Avoid problems at all cost!
Hi good people
Just checking if any luck on the upgrade from 6.8 to 7?
We will work on it after the release of NS 7 stable
FTR, which distro?
I guess Something that starts with a “Z”
Fo those waiting for an upgrade path… it’s time to raise your voice and share your thoughts :
Did the upgrade get completed from 6.8 to 7? Can we live upgrade?
Not yet, we’re currently working on it
+1 for live upgrade to NS7
Upstream doesn’t support anymore upgrade from 6 to 7:
And… where’s that leave us?
we’ll give it a try, after the backup-restore procedure is finished!
This would be a HUGE ouch if this means that upgrade from NS6x -> NS7.x would mean backup, install from scratch and restore…
