Unexpected password change, can't log in

With which user do you have the problem?

There are about a hundred different things that could be running on your server. What, exactly, are you having trouble logging in to, and with which user(s)?

having trouble to login as Administrator on the server, and i just login las on monday,

Administrator means root user?

Yes sir

Hi @wilsonjnr.
Open one topic for each problem (one topic, one problem).
If I understood well, you are having problems to login to:

  • ssh using the terminal (solutions to reset root’s user password: 1 | 2 | 3)
  • cockpit server-manger (through web browser)
  • some e-mail account to send emails using Microsoft Outlook

After 25-26 posts, it is unclear to me what username you are using to login: a user named root or a user named Administrator (the latter maybe from an Active Directory installation?). From you answer to @transocean’s question it seems to be user root (possible solution already given 3 times).

So please, from now on, on this forum topic lets try to just address the root login problem (mixing different problems is more difficult to keep track of things and to understand it properly).

Have you tried so far any of the mentioned solutions to reset root’s password?
Have you checked you are using the correct keyboard layout or tried writing the password in a text editor then copy/paste it to the ssh terminal when asked for?

The better information you provide the better we will be able to help you.
