3 posts were split to a new topic: Header and the left menu for application

The help button is on the upper right

And here it’s not on the upper right

Now that Nethserver 6.7 is out.

What do you think about standardize this webgui? for pinning this Help button

And to reoganize this left menu

For exemple:

  1. To group all reports and log in one item menu ( REPORTS )
  2. To group all about local configuration ( like the servername, network interface, time
) ( LOCAL CONFIG )
  3. To group all services, and application in SERVICES, and treat all application as a service ( Shorewall, Proxy, Owncloud, Rundcube

4)) To group all utilities ( shellinabox, bandwidth monitor, disk usage, shutdown
) in TOOLS

Did you have a better way to organize this left menu?

Moved on feature and changed the title :grimacing:

“Reorganize properly”
 Okay but you assume.
And I know your opinion about the actual menu
 dirty

Hi everybody,

My point of view (based on NS 6.7 rc1).

Is not the proper order. Just for grouping.

I will try in weekend to adapt to NS 6.7 final release.

Uh that’s a great work but maybe an image isn’t the best tool to co-operating together, a google spreadsheet (with blocks and rows) should suit better IMHO

I know. I will try in weekend to do that.

I like it

I like it as well. :+1:

Hello everybody!

Thank you Alessio, @mabeleira, @WillZen!

My point of view based on NS 6.7 (final).
Is not the proper order. Just for grouping.

NethServer 6.7 (final) installed from scratch as AiO - VM in VirtualBox.
All updates.
I have installed everything from Software center, without Languages.

It is possible that I have missed something in UI_6.7_final.xlsx.

What dou you think to rename the “Firewall object”
Since theses objects are not exclusively for the firewall, but can be use by the proxy filter

I like your proposal, great first shot

I just suggest to move tree things:

  1. “System/Security/Trusted networks” and “system/security/password policy” could be in “system/configuration”
  2. “Firewall/static routes” in system/configuration", since there’s nothing about router
  3. “firewall/ips” in “tools”

And finally Management
 I sound too “poor”

Cups is an app, and share can be a rules, so what do you thing to put theses two itens in “application” and users & groups in configuration.

I would like the Configuration/status at the top of all. and the tools nearer the system configuration
before Firewall.

Hello everybody!

Thank you all for the positive feedback!

@Jim
IMO, Users, Groups, Shared Folders and Printers (CUPS) belong to a PDC/AD environment.
Even CUPS is an app, is used to manage network printers in a domain.
This was the reason why I have grouped them all in Management.

I tried to keep the original names.

Static routes could be in System/Configuration/Network.

Could you add a new sheet named Jim with your point of view?

Hi,

below, my proposal:

Modified on 2015.11.08

Static routes moved from Firewall to System → Configuration

Since there nothing about router

I had edited my precedent sentence
