PacketFence on NethServer

I did a short test on V7 full update… packetfence can’t be installed on NS because it wants all its stuff, replacing many rpms and conflicting with some other…

As I told you before, PacketFense will generate conflicts with NethServer packages.

When began testing in 2015, it needed the right computer to make it work, but the client left pause the project.

Already this year I could do in my NethServer. but I PacketFence using the repo me updated many packages NethServer and generates conflicts among some packages NethServer.

For that reason it should be done outside nethServer.

Yes, I read it… but I tried

disabling epel repo will complete the dependencies transaction check, but many base packages are replaced, so it’s not a workable solution

Right brother, it could be a good combination but it won’t be together in the same system, they could get along well accompanied from other hardware. I don’t know if it would be viable to have it as a virtual machine from NethServer

IMO not needed… PF already gives you a virtual machine (centos7 based, IIUC) with all you need to start using it
creating a “custom” virtual appliance here would be only a loss of energies and time
