Yes, I’d remove the Firebird-Superserver… It’s probably the same issue as with the USB Disk during the restore…
If you do something the server is not expecting, even if you’re only doing what it will do itself, it refuses…
So remove firebird, (check if the folders/files are really gone!) and redo the restore…
Restore from CLI: It should work with a command, but I honestly have no idea - always used the GUI so far!
Well, thank’s for jumping in. As I’m not a programmer or an IT professional I do feel unsafe diving to deep in coding, I can read logs and try to understand switches or options i.e. rsync or other basics.
Therefore i’d really appreciate any hints to get this IMVHO basic task of every server distro done.
Right now I removed programs I installed manually before the restore. As I remeber i.e. nethserver-hylafax, nethserver-sogo, nethserver-hotsyc but also firebird-superserver and qemo-guest-agent.
If (and only if) this would do the trick, for me this is not clearly pointed out in the backup manual/pages. But we’ll see…
In any other way I’d really appreciate a safe way to restore the backup to the new server. Even if a specialist tells me to boot both machines (in this case server and client) with a rescue iso, and rsync the root volume. I’d be able to follow this if it would lead to success.
BUT having a backup and NOT beeing able to restore, is more than odd. For a server-distro, it’s unacceptable. Or somebody tells me where I followed the wrong path.
