@danb35 I think what Fausp is talking about, is having, pre-compiled scripts for automating installation and function setup of Most functionalities and software deployment in the system, something that doe snot include the software center. similar to what the tactical RMM dashboar dhas implemented, you can create scripts, and store them for re-use, to be invoked on specific situation.
but then again, would most of those then have been handled by software center or modules, in this case it will be one code to install module, other than multi step process. but overall it depends on module creator in this case.
Apart from the widgets the rest can be setup in lemonldap auth portal (you can even list apps that aren’t setup with SSO) I don’t mind dashy but if we use lemonldap for SSO I think it’s doubling up on apps that do the same thing (not that it couldn’t be useful in certain usecase)
I Had No Idea about these, sometimes i forget the endpoint of where some certain apps are supposed to be. ill look into this. But overall, maybe not everyone might be implementing LLNG in their installation, in that case, what tool would they use for Dashboard.
its true Dashy is way more configurable, but overall i dont think its much of a duplication on the app side.
In my View, Nethserver can be the Cool Kid SME management and Automation solution that just works and gets things Done for Organizations with no large resources to setup complex systems, but at the same time being able to scale to a large organization.
Most of the Core functionalities are already supported in the current form of nethsever.

I don’t think that will EVER happen, simply as NethServer doesn’t provide support for 3rd party programs which has no maintainer in the Forum / Platform.
But anyone who want’s to use the LDAP plugin is free to do so - it’s just not supported here.
If you want to volunteer to maintain the software, you’re welcome to do so.
The answer is no, because i do not use mattermost, offering sugegstions in the community sometimes does not necessary mean you need to have worked on something or are using it, it could be for others to benefit.
i should not be prevented from psoting a link or sugegstion to a feature or service i saw, which seems meaningful to others who might not be aware it exists becaus ei do not use it. it would be selfish of me.
Since we are talking About containers in NS8, i came across this Watchtower (containrrr.dev)
a tool that automatically watches out for updates on containers and pulls updated, keeping your custom configs in place.
I would close that discussion, it’s not easy to find good ideas for our @app_authors
