Mailserver stats

Hello NS Team,

First of all, I hope that Filippo do not feel offended that I used the same name for the post.

I read here https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/nethserver/_Hqxx_YNk4M that you tested AWstats and MailGraph.

Why have you stopped?

Best regards,
Gabriel

I’m still using mailgraph, I’m happy with it.
Instructions by Davide in the google group post are still working.

Hello Filippo,

Thank you for your answer.

Another question, if you don’t mind.
You tried also AWstats. Can both apps to work together?

Best regards,
Gabriel

Yes. I do not have awstats running though.

Hello,

I’ve tried to install mailgraph ( http://pkgs.org/centos-7/psychotic-ninja-x86_64/mailgraph-1.14-20.el7.psychotic.noarch.rpm.html ) into NS:

System version: NethServer release 7.2.1511 (alpha2)
Kernel release: 3.10.0-327.10.1.el7.x86_64

  1. Download mailgraph-1.14-20.el7.psychotic.noarch.rpm
  2. yum install mailgraph-1.14-20.el7.psychotic.noarch.rpm
  3. edit /etc/httpd/conf.d/mailgraph.conf to allow access
  4. systemctl start mailgraph.service
  5. systemctl reload httpd.service
  6. chkconfig mailgraph on

All I got is like in the picture below (no graphics).

Where did I go wrong?
Maybe something is missing?

Original instructions to modify mailgraph in this thread still apply in NS 7. Honestly, I don’t know how to adapt upstart config to systemd, let’s try to involve @davidep.

I asked him if we could revert to standard postfix logging in NS 7, but we may overcount emails.
Either way, we will have to modify something.

mailgraph will be available by default in NS 7.

I agree, we need good statistics for the mail server. :+1:

@giacomo

Hi Giacomo,

As I promised, I tried also Awstats on NS 7 alpha 2.

Now I can reach the page but I have no registrations (in /var/log/maillog there are registrations; I have emails on this account, s & r) and at Last Update it’s written Never updated.

I’ve followed instruction from here:
http://www.server-world.info/en/note?os=CentOS_7&p=mail&f=8
but at the manual update command I didn’t get Phase 2, only Phase 1.

I bet is the log format, you should customize LogFormat accordingly to current output.

I have recently switched from Mailserv (on OPenBSD). It uses dovecot, roundcube and a few tools in common. You could look at its dashboard and statistics page as well. I am including four screenshots. The first is the dashboard, the next two the first part of the statistics page and the last the bottom of the statistics page.

Over all I found them useful, although I was unable to select prior months details off the Web UI.

  • Dashboard

  • Statistics - top of page

  • Statistics - next category

  • Statistics - bottom of page

Interesting, it’s awstats and I think it would be easy to integrate.

@filippo_carletti has already suggested mailgraph as well

Any plan to integrate one of these for mailserver statistics?

I did it for nethserver-awstats, please check the wiki
