Install on centos 6.5 on ovh vps

Ok, i tried with centos 6.6 to install nethserver 6.6, still get some error.

Could not retrieve mirrorlist http://mirrorlist.nethserver.org/6.6/centos?release=6&repo=os&arch=i386 error was
14: PYCURL ERROR 22 - “The requested URL returned error: 404 Not Found”

The i386 arch is not supported by NethServer. Only x86_64 is available!

My mistake installed 32bit instead 64.

Still don’t work with centos 6.6 64bit

What? i think that’s bad move

How did that message come out?
We are updating the documentation, this is the latest link:
http://docs.nethserver.org/en/v6.6/installation.html#install-on-centos

it’s the one that I used.

tryed agan, reinstalled server

yum localinstall -y http://mirror.nethserver.org/nethserver/nethserver-release-6.6.rpm

Perhaps the VPS has a customized CentOS image?
Could you paste here /etc/yum.conf ?

exclude=grub*

Maintaining multiple arches is hard, so we started concentrating our efforts on the mainstream x86_64. Anyway, as long as a specific architecture is supported by CentOS we could recompile NethServer specific packages, too.

This is hte problem, can I try to changhe yum.conf with a default one ?

The exclude=grub* should not harm. I can’t figure out what’s happening… Could you post also the output of

Ok thank you for your patience. It seems like yum is not parsing the repo configuration correctly.

I guess the file /etc/yum.repos.d/NethServer.repo can be corrupted. Could you compare it with this?

Also output of rpm -Vf /etc/yum.repos.d/* can help.

I have to thank you for help.

I compared link with NethServer.repo on my server and are the same.

This is output

Digging around it seems OVH does not provide a vanilla CentOS installation on its VMs. Anybody can confirm it?

I’m almost sure the YUM configuration is different from what NethServer expects, but I can’t say where. Maybe its CentOS-Base.repo, or /etc/yum/vars contents…

This is centos base.repo

in etc/yum/vars there are 2 filese
distroversion that conaint simply - 6.6
and infra that have only - stock

So, gave up with ovh.

Someone used another vps for testing ?

Just for fun I’ve tried to install NS on Amazon EC2 and I’ve found it pretty easy to do.

I don’t know if it is of your iinterest, but I’ve write a simple How to of the steps here
