How do I change the Host Name?

My current Host Name is dc.c-ielectrical.com, and it is hosted internally. In order to meet Gmail’s new SPAM policy I updated my DKIM, added the the correct Text Record, and verified our domain name which is mail.c-ielectrical.com. The issue is that when sending email the mail server sends the dc.c-electrical.com as the domain name instead of mail.c-ielectrical.com, so the email is rejected.

Any help in change the Host Name to mail.c-ielectrical.com would be greatly appreciated.

You could set the custom HELO in the Email settings.

I changed the custom HELO, but when sending to email hosted by google the host name listed in the rejection is not the custom helo

Maybe you need to change the smtp banner?

The default SMTPD banner in Postfix is $hostname ESMTP $mail_name, which normally translates to something like <your_host_name> ESMTP Postfix. If the internal server name does not match the public DNS, the SMTP shows a hostname which may be incorrect, and make some email services reject messages or mark them as SPAM.
