Creating users and shares

Buongiorno,
vorrei capire se con l’interfaccia web di NethServer si possono creare utenti e condividere cartelle. Grazie.

Welcome Fabio,

Google translate:

Good morning,
I would like to understand if you can create users and share folders with the NethServer web interface.

(Good morning seems a mistake… EDIT Of Google )

Yes you can, depending on your needs you can choose between OpenLDAP and Samba Active Directory as back-end to create users, read the documentation care fully before you make a decision.

https://docs.nethserver.org/en/v7/accounts.html
https://docs.nethserver.org/it/v7/accounts.html

If you have questions about it, do not hesitate to ask…

To share files the most used option is shared folders (it) Nextcloud can do this too.

It’s a way to greet in italy. Fabio maybe wrote it into “wrong time”, but anyway… it’s just greeting :-). But in the wrong language.

Hello and thank you for the answers. “Buongiorno” yes it’s Good Morning, in Italian you can use it on several occasions you can’t translate it literally.
I asked this question because I did not install NethServer and before doing so I wanted to know if from its web interface it was possible to create users and shares without installing anything else.

Encourage you to have a look at Nethsever :upside_down_face:
Which testing environment are you considering to “kick the tyres” ?
(calci le gomme … is this an Italian saying? it is in Olandese…)

For now I don’t have a particular need. I was looking for a system to create users and share without editing files which I find a waste of time but at the same time without installing CentOS with one of the various GUIs.
“kick the tires” I can guess what it means, I think the Italian version is “Get your bones”

This is the goal of Nethserver, without limiting you to set things up to your liking;
If you are happy with the default configuration options it will be a easy ride if you are used to set your service’s up in plain linux (CentOS).

Ok, thank you. I’m going to install and try
