That’s quite a drastic way of going 
The directory /var/lib/nethserver is a special directory on NethServer anyways. ALL data (including databases) are there. Having a dedicated volume for that directory isn’t bad at all. In fact, on a physical server I would even go as far as creating a dedicated RAID (1 or 5) volume for that directory.
I think it should not be necessary to format the server and re-install to accomplish what you did to ‘solve’ the problem. (creating a volume and changing FSTAB should be possible without formatting and re-installing.)
i did that since it was a new server and i wasnt sure if the server was going to let me mount the /var/lib/nethserver on another drive
