Thank you, I’ve fixed it. In my opinion we must compare what we can use, not we cannot
@alefattorini what do you think?

Definitely agree, comparison should be between NethServer 6.6 and Zentyal 4.1

I feel they are two different distros, pull what can be used off the other distro whatever features you feel would be adaptable and implement them. There are many different directions this can go its all up to the demand and the difficulty of the integration where it is stable. This is what is important that no matter what you add it has to be stable without breaking the distro.

The most important aspect I think!

thats the point, I have experienced at least one which was IPS via NethServer that had broke, so I am aware there is a point that this can become unstable in testing and developing. My job here is to beta test, it is what was asked of me, which i was completely thrilled with doing, and this is what i am doing and reporting back results to help the developers determine various aspects of adding certain features to the package. I have vast knowledge in beta testing and have done it for numerous teams in the past along with developing light amounts of code, I have experience with just that, which i would love to see this distro grow for the community to the specifications that are in demand. I can see it eventually exceeding what everyone wants and expects in a good distro package.

Nice job. In terms of LDAP I believe that Zentyal is still ahead.

Hope to see nethserver moving to samba4 in the near future providing an MS AD alternative.

@WolfAddict can you add matrix info your infochart? I’d like to share it on social

Sure, I’ll do it tomorrow at night. Sorry for long delays, started to
translate also and always so little time. Ahhh family…

Sorry, I need two more days for recovery. I’m hit by a bad virus, till this
point I was unable to get up my phone, was so weak. :mask:

Don’t worry and take care of yourself! @alefattorini, aka #OctoFactor can wait

Don’t worry Wolf ; )

Guys, anybody knows how to attach a table into Inkscape to not have this bad look? I think I’m done for today, tomorrow it will be finalized with the help of some kind of a miracle ehehhhe…

ps: I’ll also chop the lower empty part. Tomorrow
ps2: there is some space left at the Origins sections, recommendations are very welcome. Maybe original author’s name?

A few comments. Zentyal does support Zentyal to Zentyal (server to server) VPN tunnels. Zentyal 4.1, as some have said, is dropping support for traffic shaping, web proxy, content filtering and perhaps other gateway services. This change is what has brought me to NethServer.

Some more comments:
Zentyal 4.1 does not have

  • FTP server
  • Webserver server (for general use)
  • UPS management
  • High Availability
  • Traffic Shaping & QoS
  • Http or Https Proxy
  • Captive Portal
  • Radius Server
  • IPS/IDS
  • Bandwidth Monitor

All the above exist in Zentyal 3.2. After this version, and with every new version, one by one, all the above features … disappeared!!!
Me and many others came here because of those … disappearances

We could include in the comparison the following

  • SSO
  • Antivirus

@WolfAddict could you please drop features above? Guess we should compare zentyal 4.1 and NethServer 6.6. How about?

Particularly I didn’t try this one, thanks for the tip.

I think that in the comparison we could include the technologies used.
e.g.

  • In Zentyal for DNS, the software Bind is used and in Nethserver the software dnsmasq

Some other differences might also be useful
e.g

  • In Zentyal the WAN Failover feature can be implemented with one external interface and multiple gateways (IPs) on this interface and I think in Nethserver one interfaces is mandatory for each gateway.

I can help with those, and general with the comparison
