WebTop is now completely Open Source

A few months we told you that WebTop 5 was becoming a fully Open Source project since we have the opportunity to build together our own groupware and not just add a groupware on top of NethServer.

That promise has now become reality, all the code is publicly available on github under AGPLv3 license.

WebTop development process is currently very close to the NethServer one: public roadmap, dicussions/suggestions and bugs on community, public bug tracker and code on github

Last but not least WebTop is on Transifex, so it’s now possible to translate the whole groupware in your own language.

We’re looking for translators, so if you know a different language than English please submit your request and start to translate! @translations_team

A big thank you to the @webtop_team @giacomo @lucag and all the people that are working hard on this project

It is great to hear that WebTop is now GPL compliant, especially after the discussions related to the lack of documentation within the previous version.

It was just matter of time.

Tried to install the version from testing, but got this:

Installed on that machine is this:

Anything not compatible?

We had a corrupted rpm inside the testing repo.
Could you please verify with this command?

rpm -q webtop5-core

If the output is empty, proceed like this:

yum --enablerepo=nethserver-testing clean all
yum --enablerepo=nethserver-testing install webtop5-core
signal-event nethserver-webtop5-update

Hi Giacomo,

that worked! Thanks.

yum info webtop5*

@lucag The roadmap on github is a little outdated. Can you please update this page with the steps that are already done? Thank’s a lot.
