Hi
I would allow some users by a template fragment in Samba and what I did is no more workable, probably due to the ‘security = ADS’
[transmission]
comment = Transmission download folder
path = /var/lib/transmission/Downloads
valid users = administrator.dyndns.org admin admin@stephdl.dyndns.org
force user = transmission
force group = transmission
read only = no
browseable = yes
writeable = yes
create mode = 0644
directory mask = 0755
when I replace
valid users = administrator.dyndns.org admin admin@stephdl.dyndns.org
by
guest ok = yes
I can login in samba, and create folders and files, so I don’t have a problem from bad permissions in my file system
My users are created in the user panel with nethserver-dc installed
I’m really not an expert in the samba4 turn, I hope that you could give some hints @davidep @giacomo

If you agree, I’d see the template fragment after trying to apply the workaround reported here:
NethServer Version: NS7rc1
Module: fileserver
Hi all,
me and samba/shared folders, we can’t get along very well…
I had stuff working:
NS7rc1, Samba AD, fileserver.
I manually added NFS, partially serving the same folders as samba.
Then I changed some stuff on my webserver:
Let’s encrypt certificate, for which I added some info in “organization contacts”,
blocked SSLv3 on the main apache-server, changed some cipher-stuff (wrote in this topic).
Rebooted.
And then, samba stopped accepti…

Ok the tricks resolved my problem, probably it should be the default behaviour
alternatives --set libwbclient.so.0.12-64 /usr/lib64/samba/wbclient/libwbclient.so.0.12
systemctl restart smb
